Degree Overview

The IU Online Bachelor of Applied Science is for students who hold an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) from a regionally accredited institution. Gain additional knowledge and experience to supplement the technical skills you acquired through your A.A.S.

Choose from one of four tracks that appeal to your interest and goals:

  • Healthcare management track

  • Individualized track

To be accepted to this program:

You must have an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)

You must meet all other admissions requirements

To apply to this program:

Application Dates

This program has rolling admissions. Application review will begin upon receipt of all required application materials.

The B.A.S. prepares you for such careers as:

  • Office manager
  • Human resource manager
  • Hospitality manager
  • Allied health professional
  • Construction and safety manager

To graduate with the B.A.S., you must complete 120 credit hours. You may apply 60 to 64 credit hours from your A.A.S. to Indiana University. You then complete 56 to 60 credit hours of courses from IU (30 credit hours at the 300- and 400-level).

Requirements are broken down as follows:

  1. General education courses (30–42 credit hours)
  2. Applied science courses (48–51 credit hours) 
  3. B.A.S. core courses (18 credit hours)
  4. B.A.S. track courses (12 credit hours)
  5. Electives (0–12 credit hours)
